recipe book

so #91 on my 101 list is find a new great recipe book.  i have been searching, asking, looking for a great recipe book for a while.  if you know me, you know that i am not good at following directions at all.  i actually really enjoy putting things together without using the directions.  i know i am weird.  however, sometimes this does not work too well when you are cooking.  cooking is one of those things that you have to follow the directions for it to turn out well.  especially baking.  which is why i do not bake much at all, well that and the fact that you have to babysit whatever it is that you are baking.  so i think a good goal for me would be to find a great recipe book and make all the recipes in the said book, hence #92.  so here are some of the contenders i have found:

so this one looks like one that might be right up my alley.  it is a really horrible picture but pretty much it is a simplified way of making dinner.  it might be something that i can make each recipe from but i don't know that it will challenge me as much as i would like.

i love the gooseberry patch books.  they have amazing illustrations and their stuff is beautiful always.  this is a casserole cookbook.  although i love casseroles and they are simple to make i don't know if this is the one either.  i am just not sure that i want to be eating a casserole every day.  although, i am not really sure i am going to be able to make a recipe from the book i buy everyday either.  usually cooking from a cookbook is much more expensive than what i usually spend on my groceries.

this is my bestie from arizona's aunt.  this seems like it might be a really great recipe book that is similar to my way of thinking.  i think it is simple enough for me to follow, but am i looking for something that spells out each and every move i need to make?

once again a horrible picture.  this cookbook comes highly recommended from my amazing sister.  she rants about each and every recipe she makes from this cookbook (and about this woman's blog).  she has my interest peaked with this book but i worry that the recipes are far above my cooking level.  i mean my sister makes homemade bread for her family and cans her own everything.  am i setting my goals too high for this one?

well i am still shopping around for a great cookbook.  sometimes i think i want a crockpot cookbook because it doesn't get any easier cooking in the crockpot and my grandma just gave me a new one, but who wants to eat crockpot food everyday or even that often?  hopefully, i can find the book soon so i can start on that goal.  i am itching to get my list done.

so here goes nothing...

so i thought it might be nice to have a place to store all of my recipes and weekly menu plans.  so here it is. hopefully i can stay on top of this because when i make a menu plan and have some recipes that are simple and easy to fix then i am able to be more organized.  also, when i go grocery shopping i am able to make a list and stick to it.  it would be nice to be able to cross off #63 and #64 on my 101 in 1001 list.  so here goes nothing...
